Chia-Hua Hou | Scientist

Chia-Hua (Neo) Hou serves as a Scientist at Pythia Biotech, bringing a highly specialized, cross-disciplinary background in precision oncology, advanced molecular imaging, and GMP-compliant cell manufacturing. At Pythia, his deep familiarity with tumor microenvironment (TME) research and preclinical drug evaluation is instrumental in validating the clinical predictive power of our human-relevant organ-on-chip platforms. By bridging in vivo and in vitro methodologies, he leads the application of complex animal models to our tumor-on-chip platforms for rigorous drug efficacy and biocompatibility studies.

 

Before joining Pythia, Chia-Hua built a formidable track record across leading research institutes and biotechnology firms, establishing novel experimental platforms and independently executing complex R&D projects. As an Associate Researcher at TEMeds, he drove the development of targeted radiopharmaceuticals, overseeing radioisotope handling, biodistribution, and pharmacokinetic evaluations.

Prior to this, he spent over five years at Meridigen, advancing to Cell Manufacturing Deputy Manager. There, he spearheaded the GMP/GTP manufacturing of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells, drove process optimization, and managed cleanroom operations. He began his career at the National Atomic Research Institute (NARI), developing orthotopic liver cancer models and pioneering molecular imaging techniques using small animal PET/CT and MRI.

 

With extensive hands-on experience in diverse cancer cell culture, sterile biomanufacturing, and nuclear medicine contrast agent development, Chia-Hua possesses a unique ability to align complex laboratory execution with strategic preclinical objectives. His proven capabilities in cross-departmental collaboration and process optimization ensure that Pythia’s TME-chip validation processes meet the highest standards of scientific rigor and global regulatory compliance.
