Karen Pan | Scientist

Karen Pan serves as scienstist at Pythia Biotech, where she drives the clinical alignment and patient-relevant validation of Pythia’s advanced tumor microenvironment (TME) models. With over 12 years of experience executing translational research within major medical centers, she plays a critical role in ensuring Pythia's organ-on-chip platforms deliver highly predictive, clinically actionable data for pharma partners.


Karen’s extensive background spans precision oncology, immunology, and medical device regulations. Prior to joining Pythia, she conducted specialized organ-on-chip research at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) and investigated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tumor-promoting genes at Shuang Ho Hospital. She previously spent nearly a decade as a central research figure at the Drug Allergy Center at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. There, she spearheaded human clinical trials, executed industry-academia technology transfers, and co-developed multiple patented rapid clinical diagnostic tests. Her operational leadership also included establishing and supervising new clinical testing laboratories internationally.


Holding an M.S. in Molecular Medicine from National Cheng Kung University and a B.S. in Life Sciences from National Chung Hsing University, Karen pairs her deep scientific expertise in molecular biology and proteomics with stringent regulatory knowledge. She holds advanced training in ISO 13485 (Medical Devices), ISO/IEC 17025, and pharmaceutical regulatory affairs, ensuring that Pythia’s platforms not only push the boundaries of science but also align seamlessly with global commercial and clinical standards.
